Nature can teach you Stillness
Eckhart Tolle says: "When you go to nature, when you give it attention, more than that, when you connect with it at a deep level, it teaches you stillness."
The definition of Forest Therapy (Shinrin-yoku) is that very same thing: connecting with nature at a deep level through the senses. We have been following Eckhart for years for his philosophy and teachings. Our retreats in 2025 will be greatly influenced by his teachings in the content of our sessions, both in our Forest Bathing practice and our guided Meditation sessions. Our main theme will be to learn "Presence through the Stillness of Nature."Presence is essentially a state of being fully aware and conscious in the present moment. It involves recognizing your true essence beyond the ego and the constant stream of thoughts. This state of awareness allows you to experience a sense of profound peace, joy, and unity with everything around you.Our updated retreat theme and content will offer a unique opportunity to cultivate Presence using our expert Shinrin-yoku guidance and the inherent stillness of nature as the main inspiration. We guide our participants through the forest at a slower-than-normal pace and share a progression of sensory perception exercises during each daily session. This provides the tools to help them cultivate a deeper connection with nature, not only during the retreat but also after returning home, in their local surroundings. Our hope is to help our participants maintain a deep connection with nature as their everyday norm—to turn this practice into second nature (pun intended). Then, what Eckhart Tolle proposes in his teachings will become more attainable as a new way of life, with more presence, joy, and less mental chatter from constant interpretation, labeling, and judging.
